Sealite Wins Contract with Brazilian Navy
Sealite has beaten a host of competition to win a large buoy contract with the Brazilian Navy.
33 Poseidon buoys of various IALA configurations were purchased. The Poseidon-1750 consists of 3 parts: the floatation section, the mid-section and a top section. This enables the individual colouring of each section to meet IALA recommendations for specific installations.
The top section of the Poseidon-1750 comes fitted with a 316-grade stainless steel battery access door but to meet the large battery requirement of the buoys.
For the Brazilian Navy the mid-section was modified to include an access door.
The Poseidon-1750 is manufactured from UV stabilised virgin polyethylene and has been specifically designed to withstand the harsh marine environment, and operate reliably with minimal maintenance. Significant advantages of the polyethylene buoy allow the interval between servicing to be far greater, and users continually report major cost savings.
5 x 40 foot containers will be shipped to Brazil shortly.
