NEW PRODUCT RELEASE - BargeSafe™ Solar, Solar LED Barge Light
After the successful launch of Sealite’s BargeSafe™ UL 1104 Certified LED Barge Light in 2009 we were able to identify the need for a Solar Powered model for use on unpowered barges. Sealite has been working on this project over the last 12 months and is pleased to announce the launch of BargeSafe™ Solar.
Like the battery powered model, the new solar powered version has been tested to comply with COLREG-72 which forms the international basis for legal navigation of lights on vessels. COLREGS are published by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) whose main task is to develop and maintain a comprehensive regulatory framework for shipping including safety, environmental concerns and technical co-operation. COLREGS are an international set of standard rules and regulations to be followed by ships and other seafaring vessels to prevent collisions at sea.
The same advanced technology and design that made BargeSafe™ a success has been incorporated into the Solar Powered model but with a few key differences.
Heavy-duty Cast Aluminium Chassis
The BargeSafe™ Solar has a heavy-duty, powder-coated aluminium chassis with rubber extruded corners to combat the extreme marine conditions of salt-spray, icing and shock, guaranteeing an extremely long service life.
Solar Power
The BargeSafe™ Solar features 4 x 3watt multicrystalline solar modules (12watts in total) which are mounted into the aluminium chassis to maximise solar collection. The solar array charges an internally replaceable battery which provides a continuous, reliable, independent power supply and boasts up to 50 nights autonomy (green/white).
