Sealite Poseidon-1750 Ocean Buoys Delivered to the Gulf of Mexico
Sealite USA and local dealer GulfRim Navigation delivers Sealite 1750mm dia. Poseidon Ocean Buoys to Mr. Russell Lanclos, Vice President and General Manager of Royal Service & Rentals, Inc., a Louisiana based company who has been servicing the oilfield industry since 1982.
The Poseidon Buoy was fitted with Sealite’s SLC400 4-6nm+ solar lantern and will be used to mark and monitor natural gas pipelines in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Poseidon buoy has a hull diameter of 1750mm, and wall thickness of 23mm. The enormous wall strength makes the buoy extremely durable in harsh conditions.
The Gulf of Mexico is located at the south-eastern corner of North America and is bordered by the United States, Mexico and the island of Cuba. The Gulf of Mexico ecosystem provides valuable marine resources including oil, gas and commercial fisheries.
Royal Service & Rentals, Inc. was impressed with the capability of the SLC400 and the fact they were able to fit some of their own equipment into the lights’ large housing. Sealite’s quality manufacturing process, rugged design and self-contained solar lighting influenced Royal in their choice to use Sealite products for this project.
“Sealite USA was very pleased to assist GulfRim Navigation with this sale and we look forward to working with GulfRim and Royal Services in the future. With buoys in stock, we can offer short lead times and turnkey solutions across a wide range of buoy applications.”
